Exomotive Sport - Kit Form specs and price
Exomotive Sport
Exomotive is a Kit car manufacturer based out of Atlanta that creates the Exocet; a laser cut and bent, welded chassis, that is based off of the 1990-2005 Mazda Miata. By shedding up to 900 pounds off of the original donor car, the Exocet becomes a lightweight performance vehicle that maintains the balance and feel of the original Miata.
The goal for Exomotive is to provide an all inclusive, easy to assemble, affordable, high performance automobile, that can be hand built for even the most novice of enthusiasts. The typical build time comes in around 100 hours, and requires no specialty equipment outside of the standard maintenance tools you would use on any car. Because the Exocet is self assembled, it is road legal in all 50 states. While the Exocet is all about the spirit of lightness, there are many ways in which you can throw in alternative power plants in order to maximize horsepower. The most common bolt in swap is a Chevy V8 LS engine that has a rich history of being run in Miatas. The Exocet is also compatible with V6 K and J series Honda engines, along with the four cylinder GM Ecotec engine. Each kit is truly a product of its owner, and because of this, no two Exocets are the same
Engine typically range from anywhere between 100 hp- 550 hp depending on the power plant. The chassis can withhold 500 ft-lbs of torque without modification Weight varies as well, but they typically come in around 1,400-1,700 lbs depending on the type of build (635kgs - 700kgs) .
Exomotive Sport Price: The kit starts at $8,000, with a chassis ready to bolt on to your Miata drivetrain.
It takes about 16-18 weeks to build it.
