Harper 5
The Harper Type 5 is a hugely customizable engineering base. Harper have opted to use the Toyota powerplant for simplicity of supply and availability of parts and aftermarket add on components. As the engine bay is easily configurable, it would be equally easy to run a VW engine and transmission, providing DSG paddle shift capability. Essentially any modern FWD car powertrain can be adapted. A common configuration is to equip a 1.6 Toyota 20V normally aspirated engine. Using a transverse mounted powertrain, the Harper Type 5 typically is on the road at ~720kg wet.
The beauty of the Harper Type 5 lies in its roadholding and driveability, regardless of the powerplant. Harper Type 5 is registered and licensed as a road legal car.
