The 8000-hour manufacturing process began with the removal of the original Series 1 Jaguar E-type and replacing its original steel body with aluminum that is more durable than the original Lightweight E-type. Eagle said this alone would take nearly 2,500 hours.
Other changes have been made to improve drivability, including deeper side sills to increase torsional stiffness, larger wheel wells to accommodate wider 16-inch wheels, and the 4.7-liter inline six that produces 380 horsepower and 508Nm of torque. New alloy block, large valves and special crankshafts, pistons and connecting rods make power gains possible. Including the use of lighter magnesium to make various castings, including gearbox and differential housings, rear wheel hub brackets and oil pans.
The gearbox is a five-speed fully synchronized device, and the suspension includes customized spring rates, Ohlins adjustable dampers and various lightweight components.
