DJM McRae R4
DJM McRae R4 is a real racer, suitable for rally, off-road rally, track and ice competition. It was developed from 2003 to 2007 by the champion of the 1995 World Rally Championship-Colin McRae and DJM. McRae's primary areas of concern were the safety, weight and balance of the vehicle, engine, transmission, and brakes.
The challenge began when Colin McRae first imagined building a car, which will incorporate aspects that excite both the driver and the audience.
The McRae R4 chassis is based on a steel safety cage with carbon paneling. The suspension consists of double wishbone with Proflex dampers.
The engine is a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter Millington Diamond engine that produces 350 bhp. The gearbox is a manual or semi-automatic six-speed gearbox and mechanical front and rear differentials. The car can be produced in 2 or 4 wheel drive form. The gearbox is specially designed from the ground up for this car. The car can be equipped with a twin turbo V6 3.0 engine for track and road use.
DJM McRae R4: Around € 210,000, depending on specs.
They are units manufactured by hand, upon request by DJM. They are Rally cars designed as unit projects, not as low-production vehicles. The car began its commercialization in 2007.
