AK Sportscars is one of the most recognized manufacturers of the Shelby Cobra. Meanwhile, Southern GT was one of the leading manufacturers of the GT40 due to its high quality.
Currently, AK sportscars has acquired the business of Southern GT, so both models will be produced by AK Sportscars.
The car has been updated for 2022. While the original chassis fitted the Ford 302 small block V8, the engine cradle has been modified to house the Ford Coyote quad cam engine, , so both options are available. The engine is equipped with a ZFQ gearbox, although in the future a Porsche G50 transaxle may be equipped.
