Stohr WF1
The WF1 is the ultimate prototype open cockpit race car. Affordable and exciting, this Stohr WF1 is at the top of the times table in the hands of a capable driver and offers unparalleled performance for your investment. Drivers describe the feeling of driving a WF1 with words like "visceral," "addictive" and "ultimate." More than one driver has sold his stock race car to buy a Stohr WF -1 after sitting behind the wheel for just one lap.
WF1 driver Doug Campbell says this, "I came from Formula Atlantic where it was all about shooting. To be honest, it felt like cheating. My Stohr WF1 requires more input and the results are much more satisfying. The perfect lap feels like you're working in harmony with the car's capabilities. The results are fast speeds that provide a much more immersive experience."
With a variety of tuned sportbike powertrains, the Stohr WF1 is very flexible, unlike its competitors.
Development of the WF1 continues, and many upgrades have been available since its introduction.
BODY/AERO
The WF1 has an underbody with ground effects. Choose between our unlimited P1 tunnel floor or our new P2 apartment floor. The large carbon rear wing and adjustable flap are positioned to maximize airflow from the rear diffuser. The carbon fiber front diffuser provides the proper grip and also offers protection in the event of a crash. The body is made of a lightweight carbon fiber composite construction.
CHASSIS
A hybrid carbon fiber cockpit with tubular steel clips front and rear. Indy and F1 cars require drivers to be surrounded by a carbon fiber survival cell. Stohr has pioneered this technology in this class of car.
COCKPIT
Standard equipment includes a Momo steering wheel with SPA quick-release and F1-style paddle shifters. An optional dashboard provides RPM, water and oil temperature, oil pressure, lap times and data logging. A lightweight pedal system developed by Stohr is adjustable for the driver.
DRIVE TRAIN
The WF1 is suitable for modern 4-cylinder "superbike" engines, including the extremely powerful Suzuki Hayabusa and many newer 1-liter engines. Standard equipment includes a WRD-designed chain differential with lightened CV joints and hollow half shafts, an aluminum radiator and a large oil cooler. Stohr's aluminum transmission case is designed to support the suspension loads while relieving the load on the engine case.
SUSPENSION
Industry-leading Penske shock absorbers are available in one-, two- or three-way adjustable designs to provide an unparalleled level of control and support mechanical grip. Ultra-lightweight Jongbloed center-lock race wheels feature sticky Goodyear or Hoosier tires. Our custom steering knuckles are machined from billet aluminum and feature durable sleeves that increase wheel bearing stiffness. Large wheel bearings are used to achieve slower bearing speeds while withstanding the high downforce forces our cars generate.
BRAKES
Wilwood billet aluminum brake calipers. Custom ventilated brake rotors floating on lightweight aluminum hats. Floating rotors provide a firmer pedal and longer rotor life. The master cylinders are Wilwood with cockpit-adjustable brake bias. All this gives the rider more confidence when braking
