Caterham Project V
Caterham Project V is an all-electric coupe concept car that could be launched in late 2025 or early 2026.
Conceived from the outset as an electric vehicle, Project V is the creation of new chief designer Anthony Jannarelly.
Project V uses a battery-electric powertrain powered by a 200-kW (272-hp) single motor on the rear axle. This is paired with a 55-kWh USOC lithium-ion battery pack with advanced thermal management that can be charged from 20-80% in just 15 minutes using a 150-kW DC fast charger.
With 100 km/h acceleration in less than 4.5 seconds, the Project V achieves an estimated top speed of 230 km/h and a WLTP target range of 400km
The minimalist design philosophy means that, like the Seven, the Project V is light and simple. Caterham is aiming for a kerb weight of 1,190 kg using an innovative carbon fibre and aluminium composite chassis.
The Project V show car features 2+1 seating (optional 2+2), – which optimises entry and exit, provides more comfort for the rear passenger and gives future owners more flexibility in how they use the vehicle. A simple, driver-focused infotainment system with smartphone mirroring takes centre stage in the interior, and a digital instrument cluster displays key information. The driver can choose between "Normal," "Sport" and "Sprint" driving modes, which intelligently adapt acceleration and steering to the environment.
The concept features double-wishbone front and rear suspension with fully adjustable geometry, electrically assisted power steering, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres (19-inch front and 20-inch rear) and brake discs with high-performance callipers all around.
Caterham Project V price: The target price is about £80,000, or less. (07.2023)
