At drivingyourdream we bring you a complete list of Italian car brands. In 2016 we did the world largest list of all car brands in current production; maybe you didn't know how many car brands are there in the world, but there are currently more than 3.300, and now we try to keep it updated. It is a rather laborious work, of constant investigation, for which we greatly appreciate the collaboration of others, since it is hard for us to follow all sources of information.

The history of the Italian automobile industry can be traced back to the 1880s. One of the beginnings of the automotive industry in Italy was thanks to Enrico Bernardi, he built gasoline-fueled tricycles in 1884, with this, the Italian automobile industry began its long and rich history in the automobile industry.

In the 1910s, there were more than 15 different car manufacturers only in Turin, currently, Italy is the sixth country with the highest number of different car brands, with 120 different Italian cars manufacturers. Italian cars brands are famous for small city cars, sports cars and super sports cars.

The Italian automobile manufacturing industry consists of many small and medium-sized enterprises, besides Fiat, accounting for 90% of total car production in Italy.

Italy remains one of the top five automakers in the world and is among the twenty largest car producers in the world as it produces around one million cars annually. The Italian automobile industry has more than 2,000 different automotive companies and employed nearly 250,000 people. The contribution rate of the automobile industry to Italy's GDP is 8.5%.
