CN Sport Prototypes
CN Class manufacturers, and other sport prototypes.
The CN group is a motorsport category introduced by the FIA in the early 1990s based on the SR2 prototype category. This category was included in the FIA ISRS championship in 1998 underneath SR1 and SR2 classes. The CM group is a non-FIA category closely related to the FIA group. Many car manufacturers develop vehicles for this category under FIA regulations, but these cars are mixed into many other categories with similar regulations. Our intention is to make a selection, in different posts, of the CN sport prototypes, either for competition or to enjoy the best cars for track-day CMS 04 CN2CMS is an Italian racing team, which usually runs with Osella prototypes. Thanks to their years of racing experience, they designed a high-performance vehicle, with a 2,000cc engine that develops 325hp. This figure may not be surprising, but it's really impressive if we consider that the CMS 04 weighs 535kgs, with a very low center of gravity and great downforce. But if you want more power, CMS can offer you two other possible engines, it will depend on the regulations to which the vehicle will race: A 2.5 Honda Mugen 385 hp engine or a 3.0 Turbo Honda Mugen 600hp engine. The fact that CMS 03 is designed specifically for a particular engine, is a guarantee that the vehicle is perfectly balanced for this. Minetti SS-V1
