Cool SupercarsThere are many popular supercars brands that people admire and there is a good chance that you may be a die-hard fan of those supercars, but today I am going to talk about some of the unfamiliar and unheard supercars that you may not know about and yet they are making some of the most unrealistic and amazing exotic cars out there. Drako MotorsFounded in 2013, Drako motors began its small-scale manufacturing in 2020, the company has its headquarters in San Jose, California. Their flagship product is the four-seater EV known as Drako GTE. The car is built on Fisker Karma chassis and its designer is Lowie Vermeersch, the famous designer of several Ferrari and Maserati cars. Drako GTE has 4 individual motors for each wheel which combined deliver a whopping 1200hp and an unbelievable 8800Nm of torque, this taking less than 3 seconds to accelerate from 0-60mph and a top speed of 206mph (332km/h). There are no differential in the car, instead the car uses softwares that replace the conventional differential. Furthermore, each motor has its own inverter in order to reduce the latency of the driver input to near zero milliseconds. The car’s battery consists of 10,000 individual cells that deliver a claimed range of 250 miles. The GTE uses regenerative carbon ceramics Brembo brakes and slip control. Drako GTE was also featured on Jay Leno’s garage. Quantum GP
Quantum GP, also known as Quantum performance vehicles, is an Australian car manufacturer. Their flagship product is the Quantum GP 700, which resembles quite a bit to an F1 car. The car’s selling proposition is its 1:1 power to weight ratio and 1G of downforce that delivers an awesome driving performance.
The GP 700 weighs only 700kgs and takes less than 2.6s to reach 100km/h from a standstill, with a top speed of 320 km/h. At the heart of the car is a twin supercharged custom made 2.7L engine, which delivers 700bhp and drives the rear wheels, at its peak performance it consumes 6 liters of fuel per minute. The engine is mated to a 6 speed Hollinger sequential transmission. Unique aerodynamic design combined with a tubular chassis made from a combination of carbon fiber, aluminum and Kevlar gives the car 12,000N or 1.6Gs of downforce at 280km/h and a fantastic stability and corning ability respectively. Zedro MotorsZedro Motors is a Lebanese car company based in the UAE. They aims to deliver the best value for money when it comes to owning a supercar and giving the customers best customizing options according to their taste. Zedro motors also provide an option to create their own supercar on their website. Their flagship product is a car known as Notorious, only 100 units of this car will be made, and every model will be customizable according to the owner’s need. Usually supercars are not daily driven cars, but Zedro says that their Notorious will be a daily driven supercar whose engine and chassis is based on a Genesis G37. The car comes in three models ranging from 380hp base model to a 1250hp top tier model. The 380hp engine is naturally aspirated 3.7L engine , while the mid-tier engine is a same engine with a supercharger that takes the engine power to 620hp. And finally, things get really interesting with the top tier engine that is the Toyota’s famous 2JZ, it’s a twin turbo inline that delivers 1250hp. The base car cost $65,000, whereas mid-level car is priced at $85,000 and finally the top spec car would set you back at $107,000. Range of options get wider as you move up to the top spec car. TR SupercarsThe company manufactures Speed 12 sportscar which is essentially a redesign of 1990s legend TVR Cerbera Speed 12. They have assembled the ex-craftsmen of the TVR company in order to materialize their Speed12 project. In order to fulfill the dream of TVR founder Peter Wheeler of TVR Speed 12 going into production, TR supercars decided to build an elegant interpretation of the iconic TVR Cerbera Speed 12 that they hope will be a production level car. The Speed 12 is powered by a 6.0L twin turbo V12 producing mighty 1012hp and the car takes only 2.9secs to reach 0-60mph. The hypercar has a top speed of 218mph. The chassis and bodywork are mostly carbon fiber with added bits of aluminum, the driving and handling set up of the car is fully customizable to every driver’s need as the car is all about the raw fun. Though if you want the car you need to have a whopping £1.2 million. Raesr Tachyon SpeedRAESR (Rice advanced engineering systems & research) is a Los Angeles based company founded in 2014 by Eric Rice. The company specializes in the production of electric supercars. In 2017, the company completed the production of its third prototype Tachyon Speed whose design was inspired by a fighter jet and Le Mans prototype. It won’t be a lie to say that the car has other-worldly looks and still the car has achieved its road legal certification. The hypercar is powered by a total of 6 electric motors, four motors in the rear, two in the front. The 6 feet long electric batteries of the car can produce 1.4MW at their peak performance enough to power a small village. The range isn’t confirmed as of now, but the customer can choose if he/she wants super performance or a good range as it is a tradeoff between range and performance. The company started taking orders for Tachyon in 2019, the beast can cost anywhere between $750K to $1.2 million.
