The Devel Sixteen can be a reality

Devel Sixteen

Devel Sixteen is a 5,077CV supercar launched at the Dubai International Motor Show, initially in 2013, then in 2017. It's fitted with a huge 12,300cc V16 engine with four turbos.

The price of the Devel Sixteen was € 1,570,000, or $ 1,600,000. With these figures it's easy to think that we were never going to see it materialize, nor were we going to see a Devel Sixteen for sale. 

We could think the project was dead, but 8 years later we see how the dream lives on. The company has faced significant obstacles, and lost the support of Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) for the physical development of the car.

In June they already started testing in the Pininfarina wind tunnel and it's currently conducting the tests on the track. According to Devel, the car will be able to reach a speed close to 500km / h (310mph), although everything remains to be seen.

​​The car currently used in the tests still doesn't have the turbo system. The initial intention of the company was to create three series of prototypes:

First, a Devel Sixteen with a 2,000hp V8 engine; then a version with a V16 with four turbos that will develop 3,000hp; and finally they will try to develop the 5,000hp supercar that initially promised. Will they get it?
