German Urban exotic cars You Can Afford

Germany is one of the largest car producers in the world. It has some of the most important and famous brands in the world: Volkswagen, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Opel ... but it has many brands, even some of them are unknown car brands for the general public. In fact, there are currently almost 130 car brands in our list of German car manufacturers, which makes it the 5th country with the highest number of car brands.

We have already made a list of German car brands before, but this time we wanted to focus on German city cars you can afford and use daily as your first car, rather than ultra-expensive exotic sports cars.

Sono Sion

Sono Sion is a spacious solar-powered electric car with a cruising range of up to 255 kms. By  integrating more than 248 solar cells into the body, it can charge itself through solar energy. 

Charging at a fast charging station takes up to 30 minutes to complete 80% of the charge. Thanks to the two-way car charger, Sion will be able to share its power to charge other electric vehicles. 

Sion has a comfortable interior space, ample space and a spacious trunk, which can provide enough space for you and your needs. The infotainment system with integrated connectivity and mobility services can be centrally controlled via a 10-inch touch screen. 

Sono Sion’s price is indeed competitive, with a price of 25,500 Euros (approximately USD 30,000)

Artega Karo

Artega Karo is a space-saving electric city car that reproduces the iconic design of the historic "Isetta". A true reinterpretation of the classics of the 1950s. Artega Karo can travel more than 100 kilometers with the standard battery, but if you add the Range Plus battery, you can double this range. 

It may seem small but provides a comfortable space for two adults and their luggage, in fact, the luggage compartment has a volume of 280 liters and a maximum payload of 200 kg.

Borgward BX7

Borgward has always been closely related to innovative design and unique car style. They aim to combine visionary design with cutting-edge technology to find smart and green mobile solutions. Borgward BX7 is full of vitality and refinement, exuding confident elegance. 

Its high density battery can achieve a cruising range of 500 kilometers, and it can be charged to 80% within 30 minutes, in a fast charging station. It offers very impressive performance: 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds, with a top speed of 200 km/h.

Electric Brands Ebussy

eBussy is an innovative modular light vehicle. It has more than 10 modular and interchangeable bodies, which can be converted into several vehicles: bus, van, pickup, cargo mini truck, camper, station wagon, cabrio pickup and much more. 

The maximum range is about 600 kilometers thanks to integrated solar modules in his solar roof and energy recovery drivers.

eBussy is equipped with a permanent electronically controlled 4WD, a torque of more than 1000 Nm, and a communication system controlled by an app. Without batteries and the superstructure it weighs between 450-600kg but it can still withstand a load of 1000kg.

ACM City One

Acm City One is a lightweight, energy-saving, and environmentally friendly city car. ​With the rear seats folded down, it has a load capacity of 1,350 liters, making it a very versatile vehicle. ​

It has a 240km range and a modular battery swapping system, so there is no need to wait for the car to recharge, but instead,  the battery is manually swapped. The car is enginered to conveniently store additional batteries, it can even have an additional battery roof box to increase batteries storage capacity. Of course, there is also the possibility of recharging the car in a traditional way, with a power plug in only 4 hours, and with a standard plug the full charge is done in 7 hours
