H2X GlobalAustralian hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle manufacturer H2X has partnered with KTM Technologies to develop a revolutionary, innovative, lightweight and cost-effective vehicle chassis. KTM is Europe's largest motorcycle manufacturer and a global leader in the off-road market. KTM Technologies is an innovation and cutting-edge technology center within the Pierer Mobility Group, specializing in lightweight construction, mobility concepts and products. KTM Technologies will work with the H2X team to design and develop their vehicle chassis and build plans. H2X recently announced that it will manufacture hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in Victoria, a major step in H2X's journey to become the world's leading hydrogen vehicle manufacturer. Under the agreement, KTM Technologies will focus on the development of composite materials and advanced technologies related to electric vehicles, using its innovative/advanced resources and world-renowned engineers to develop conceptual solutions for origami chassis platforms, H2X will develop and produce its vehicles in a completely new way in a cost-effective and resource-efficient manner. The state-of-the-art chassis will use sheet metal folding and welding technology for a range of light trucks, vans and pickups. It is easier to produce and maintain and more flexible in variants than conventional chassis. Origami technology enables very efficient and sustainable manufacturing with relatively low investment costs for tooling. KTM Technologies will analyze the best performing chassis and cab structural layouts and use Finite element methods simulations to optimize the architecture. On the integration side, KTM Technologies designed and developed the chassis layout to complement the origami chassis approach.
