The first production Morgans, the Runabouts, were unveiled to the world at the Olympia motorcycle show which it took place in London in 1910.
Runabouts were simple single-seat vehicles steered with a tiller and powered by either a single cylinder 4 h.p. engine or an 8h.p, and the company AvtoProject are recreating them with high precision
It's quite hard to find a rare classic car and dive into the early 19th century. How to bring such an idea to life? AvtoProject, located in Mariupol (Ukraine), are specialists in creating replicas of retro cars from scratch, they develop drawings from photographs, taking into account all the little things of that era. In a short period of 4 years, they created four copies of the Morgan Runabout: 1909, 1910 and 1912. They work with different countries around the world.
They can create a replica from a conventional model (a purely exhibition non-working model) to a working model on an electric drive, while you can feel the subtleties of driving this car and plunge into the 19th century:
The purely exhibition model is a replica model without an electric motor. It's suitable for a vintage car museum, restaurant or gas station to attract attention or for a photo shoot. It's cost from 7500 euros.
The other model is powered by an electric engine to make them more simple and reliable. A replica which is as close as possible to the original, with a 3 kW electric motor and two-seater replica. It's cost from 25.000 euros.
Usually it takes about a year to build your custom replica. Also, kits and blueprints are available for those who wants to build their replica project themselves.
