Ve-ZeroVero Zero is an electric hot rod, that might seem contradictory. A French hot rod, just as much. Yet this is what the Quelet company offers with the Ve-Zero, designed by designer Philippe Chalot. The name of Quelet may not ring a bell, but it is a company based in Dampierre-les-Bois (Doubs) specializing in composite materials and which supplies PSA in particular. We also owe him the Smarlinette, a modern reinterpretation of the original Alpine A110 based on the Smart Roadster.
Externally, the Ve-Zero has almost everything of the traditional hot rod on the basis of pre-war American. It is a two-seater tray with open wheels, with two round front lights on either side of a vertical grille and solid rims.
We notice two red elements aping the intake manifolds on the front cover and the logical absence of exhaust. A tubular structure surrounds the passenger compartment to stiffen and secure the whole. The dashboard has just a few buttons, as well as a central screen. The vehicle is 3.30 m long, 1.80 m wide and 1.11 m high. It has a double wishbone suspension front and rear. The Ve-Zero could be displayed around € 45,000 in France according to its designer. Its starting price in the United States could be around $ 55,000,. The manufacturer promises many possibilities for customization. Production volumes have not yet been stopped. Philippe Chalot is waiting to hear about the reception of potential customers at various exhibitions, starting with a “Drive in” Show, organized by West Coast Customs in California Sema show in Las Vegas and Holley High Voltage in Sonoma Race Way.

Quid du poids? Et surtout du législateur ? Il existe bien sûr un marché en France… à condition de pouvoir rouler!
