Wells VertigeAs early as 2014, Robin Wells wanted to buy his dream sports car, but nothing attracted his attention at the time, so he decided to build his ideal car by himself and an engineer friend. After seven years of development, this car is finally on the road. Wells Vertige is based on a steel monocoque chassis with a tubular subframe and is equipped with a steel roll cage to increase rigidity. It is also very compact: 3,944 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width and 1,142 mm in height. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter Ford engine with a power of 208 horsepower at 7,300 rpm, coupled to a suitable six-speed manual transmission. They are not big numbers, but they are more than enough when the Wells Vertige weighs just 850 kg. The 0-100 time is about 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 225 km / h The body is slim, well-proportioned, and beautifully curved, just like a racer in the 1960s. The cabin has 2 seats, in addition to the 7-inch infotainment screen, the rest is quite maintained with an analog sense, for example, all the gages al real dials. There is even luggage space and full-size spare tires in the suitcase. The first seven units will be produced in the spring of 2022 and are already sold out. As a small-volume car manufacturer, Wells is destined to be manufactured in limited production, with a maximum of 25 units per year. Wells Vertige price: Starting at 45,000 pounds (approximately 52,400 euros), for a custom sports car, this sounds absolutely affordable.
